As we inch towards the most anticipated multimedia release in human history, more details begin to emerge. Best Buy has leaked their pre-order program via an affiliate marketing email to their customers. This wrinkle unravels the date the game will be available for pre-orders across various platforms while also shining a light on how to get a commission on the title.

According to influencers showing the email sent out, even going as far as to open it on a livestream to prove authenticity, GTA VI will be available for pre-order on May 18, 2026. As a content creator, if you sell pre-orders for the physical copy of GTA VI through Best Buy USA between May 18 – 21, 2026 you’ll qualify for 5% commission for each successful affiliate sale made through your content creator code with the retailer.
History could be repeating itself with Game Informer said to have a cover feature with more details about the upcoming Open World Action title this month.
Previously Sony had a marketing campaign for PS4 users, telling them “you have GTA VI on your wishlist,” and recommending “upgrade your PS4 to a PS5”. During that promotion Sony stated the game would be available on November 19, 2026, furthering public confidence that Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive would hit the date set in their second trailer.
Almost everyone is holding their breath and hoping that date comes true and we don’t see another delay. Some have already forecasted a delay, but with an alleged budget close to $2 Billion anything is possible for this game.

Official GTA VI Trailer #2:
When GTA VI launches it will debut as a PS5 / Xbox Series X | S exclusive first with no date set for PC at this time. This is the same strategy GTA V used launching for PS3 / Xbox 360 on September 2013 then later PS4 / Xbox One November 2014 with the special PS4 Pro / Xbox One X treatment before releasing for PC in April 2015 with optimizations for settings like draw distance and (unofficial) mods. Some time later the Enhanced Edition came for PS5 / Xbox Series X|S making it one of the most ported big budget games ever made.
Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to follow a similar release pattern staggering across PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X | S, PC, PlayStation 6, Xbox Helix, and potentially even Nintendo Switch 2.
Grand Theft Auto V was one of the most expensive games ever produced at the time of development with a budget of over $250 million achieving over $1 Billion in its first 3 days and $6 Billion in lifetime revenue across all platforms.
