Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark (Also known as Stealth Baz-tard released on Windows in 2011) is a 2D platform video game developed and published by Curve Studios released on PSN for PS3 and Vita.
You take control over a goggle wearing clone that  must make his way through a testing facility filled with hazards and robot sentries by staying in the shadows, risking instant death if he is spotted by an enemy.
Gameplay reminded me a lot of Super Meat Boy and Oddworld Abe’s Odyssey, and was fast paced at times where you had to be quick to avoid detection. The puzzle aspect was good mix while trying to remain stealth in the shadows and progressively got more challenging through the 65 levels (80 if you find missing items). It was hard to find any problems in the games mechanics, but how hard could that be for a simple 2D platformer, right? Right?!

What stood out to me was one of those simple mechanics of moving stationary robot blocks around to provide cover and make shadows. Depending on where the source of light was, the shadows would cast to the right or left side of the block providing an easier way to avoid detection. Like most boss fights, it took more time and wit to map out what exactly you needed to do, but the excitement and challenge made getting through the boss area more fun and on the edge of your seat, or bed if you’re like me. You can also unlock gadgets that work much like perks to help efficiently sneak your way through the facility filled with murderous robots.

You’ll progress through the story just like you do any game and learn the purpose of your clone and the messages that appear on the wall. That’s if you don’t rage quit mid-way through the 3rd level. The sound, the music, the story, and the overall mechanics meshed so well I don’t have a complaint about the game except for one. As hard as some levels are, they don’t painstakingly punish you with a restart at the beginning of the level, and checkpoints are pretty frequent. I think that takes away from the punishment of death, but it also doesn’t allow you to get over frustrated. You’ll still find yourself yelling out “WHAT?!” or “Awe c’mon!!” here and there though with a minor rage quit or too, but the game is just too addictive and fun to put down for long.
You can also expect this game to makes its way onto iOS and Android devices later this year.
Final Verdict: Stealth Inc. is a fun game that’ll challenge your wit and a bit of your patience. Once again another fun simple and fun title that’ll keep you occupied for hours on a long trip, late at night, or on the toilet after a trip to Taco Bell. I give Stealth Inc an Easy 10/10
