Tango Fiesta is a game that takes you back to the days of Rambo III on the Sega Genesis, but with more of a focus on action rather than stealth. Immediately Tango Fiesta is fun as hell, and is meant to be played on the controller. For the testing purposes of this game, I used a standard PS4 DualShock 4 over the ControllerMAX (Aka CronusMAX) adapter (our review here), but you can use an Xbox 360 controller as well if you have one around.
I commend Spilt Milk Studio and Mastertronic for developing and publishing this game on Steam Early Access because it focuses on Gameplay first and foremost, and it gets a lot of things right. In addition to having your choice of primary and secondary weapons (including an Uzi, Assault Rifle, or Shotgun) players can also carry on 3 grenades at a time and a somewhat overpowered melee option which allows enemies to be dropped easily when you’ve got no ammo left.
Once players get the basics in earlier easy levels the title progresses with increased challenge and the reliable yet somewhat slow and clumsy controls allow for more and more explosions and shots fired all over the screen. This game is a great military setting that we haven’t seen in this genre much and is welcomed with open arms by PC gamers on the Steam RGN community. The game also gives you a diverse set of players to control, and the option to take part in co-op for up to 4 players online or locally. In Tango Fiesta the year is 1981 and every cliche’ war movie is rolled up into one guy’s nightmare (alongside his 3 friends). I played as all of them, each have varying strengths and weaknesses which address certain key points of player skill and attributes in the game.

This game is still open for complete update, and the character’s controls get faster and faster as you progress through this game. The developer and publisher are still listening to the community on their Steam channels – so if you see the gameplay video preview at the bottom of this article and have feedback – leave it on the Steam channels of the developers using your Steam profile and let your voice be heard. Most of the early missions consist of getting the player used to everything and simple objectives like blowing up para-military bases taking out all enemies who are otherwise relaxing armed on their tropical setting. This game focuses on the action based adventures of old school gaming to get its point across, and the soundtrack keeps this in pace by being pleasant on the ears and not typical of a shooter game.
