Crypt of the Necrodancer Review - RealGamerNewz

Giving a wide variety of dungeons and scenarios for players to experience, Crypt of the NecroDancer is a Roguelike RPG game which actually takes the key principals of the Roguelike genre seriously. Designed by Ryan Clark and Brace Yourself Games, a huge gameplay twist is applied to the title as players are tasked with keeping their rhythm similar to something out of a Dance Dance Revolution style of play. There can even be dance pads hooked up to play! The soundtrack included in the game provides a tempo for the bouncing and bopping to commence to which even garnered an honorable mention for 2015 Game Developers Choice Awards for Innovation and Best Audio among other moments of significant industry recognition. The soundtrack gets new tracks unlocked as the game progresses as well as  is extended if players reach New Game+ / New Game++ modes allowing for unlocked gear to be carried over. Alternatively, a custom MP3 collection can be used as a user soundtrack.

urlThis (little) War of Mine is going to shine. This War of Mine is a game with a bold concept, not all people in wars are soldiers. This actually a fact that is easily looked over by many, but this title tries to kick you swiftly for that thought. As the game is beautiful, it’s depressing, it’s fun, and it’s a real challenge.

I didn’t find it very difficult to get sucked in to This War of Mine, as I played it all day Veteran’s Day and have accumulated some hours on it since receiving my code. It’s a game that has intrigued me for many reasons, I did not get to test the preview that was given out a few months ago sadly, but I am very happy with what I have been playing. This War of Mine is a point and click survival game, but the point and click does not exactly do it any justice. It’s an addictive game with a great story, great mechanics, beautiful music, and a hell of a point.

Tango Fiesta is a game that takes you back to the days of Rambo III on the Sega Genesis, but with more of a focus on action rather than stealth. Immediately Tango Fiesta is fun as hell, and is meant to be played on the controller. For the testing purposes of this game, I used a standard PS4 DualShock 4 over the ControllerMAX (Aka CronusMAX) adapter (our review here), but you can use an Xbox 360 controller as well if you have one around.

In a fit of rage Derrick the Deathfin storms off and vows revenge for what has happened to him. Next players are presented with varying levels.

Anomaly Defenders is the final game in the Anomaly series and it sticks to its tower defense roots. Anomaly Defenders comes from 11 bit studios out of Warsaw, Poland. They are the guys behind all the other Anomaly games and they have done an amazing job with the series. For the first time, the user will be playing as the Aliens while humans are launching their counterattack against the alien home-world. It’s the best scenario playing as the alien race and defending the planet from the human scum of Earth.

Long Live The Queen RealGamerNewz Review

In Long Live The Queen players take control of a Crown Princess who will become Queen and is constantly having every facet of her character tested. It seems like no matter what players do and how they build up the Crown Princess, something isn’t good enough. This is a frustration but at the same time the game is well put together enough that this also encourages multiple play-throughs and mastery of the mechanics. This means Long Live The Queen achieves a large amount of replay value, albeit at the cost of being an addiction and very difficult to master title.

With Blackguards, Daedalic Entertainment have created a game that is not easy to get into but unlocks tons of fun and satisfying gameplay for hardcore role playing game fans who are able to master its control set and user interface. If those don’t scare you off, then you’re in for a treat. Blackguards rewards players with a decent story, great battles, and an easy on the eyes experience that easily stands out in its genre.

Magicite is an indie game that has an early access release on steam and continues the trend of indie survival adventure games but with a 2D platformer / RPG twist to it. When players start the game they create a character of which they would like to play the game as. This character creation process includes being able to choose how he / she will look. Stats for the character are randomly generated along with traits. Annoyingly though, you cannot select your own stats or traits which diminishes the customizability of your character.

Based on the award-winning Fables comic books by Bill Willingham, The Wolf Among Us is a point-and-click episodic series from developer Telltale games. This dark and twisted take on fairy tale lore, stars Sheriff Bigby Wolf (formerly the Big Bad Wolf) whose job is to keep the citizens of Fabletown safe. When a fable (fairy tale character) is brutally murdered, it is up to Bigby found out who is responsible and why. The story of this prequel to the comic series will be told across 5 episodes. The first episode titled “Faith”, started things off with a bang, and while there are a few missteps in episode two, it continues this trend. Note*: You must own episode one in order for you to be able to play this episode, as it counts as DLC.

Broken Age is a point and click adventure game, sounds fun already. It tells the story of a young boy and girl living parallel lives to each other without knowledge. A girl living in a village, a boy living in a spaceship. The girl is selected as the next to be sacrificed to a monster, but she refuses. While the boy is living alone only with a computer, I guess you could say is mom to watch him, but he wants to get away and live adventures of his own.

In Blackguards players start off on the wrong side of the law with little to no understanding of what was reality and what was fantasy. The main character witnesses a strange wolf, which almost seems possessed, killing a princess he knew well and was sworn to protect. When he’s killed the beast though the princess lays on the ground with blood all around her and there is now no wolf to be seen. The player is discovered and amongst the confusion hears a voice whisper out to him. Taking the blame for what happened, unsure of who is really responsible for what happened, and tortured in the pain of imprisonment both within his mind as well as literally Blackguards begins with the player on a quest for answers. Angry Birds: Star Wars PS4 Review

Angry Birds: Star Wars doesn’t exactly contain a story or plot-line, but it does fine enough without one. Of course, any sort of Star Wars story would have had to be perfectly in line with lore behind the series as to appease fans almost OCD-like obsession with the source material while at the same time fitting the simplicity of being applicable to the genre of game this is, so that would have been extremely challenging for Rovio Entertainment to incorporate anyways. That being said, it sure wouldn’t have hurt to have some reason why you were doing these things other than the sheer fun of it.

Iron Roads aims to capture the old school fun of games like Railroad Tycoon while adding new layers and wiping away the micromanagement. Managers are moved from different offices to optimize efficiency within a headquarters building as players run the show controlling HR, Advertising, Supervisors, Trainyard, Rail Facility, and other various departments. For example, you might send a manager to a grain silo to increase loading of a product or Railyard to figure out why a certain train isn’t being fixed in time.

Huntsman: The Orphanage is a mix between survival horror and adventure brought to you by ShadowShifters. The game is also a successfully green-lit project on Steam for Windows PC and Mac OS X with users allowed to pre-purchase it and get early access to play before the final build is completed. Huntsman has a lot of dialogue and story behind all the characters in the game. The premise of the game is to find all of the orphans that are in the game. They will present freaky messages to your smartphone and you have to find them and the items that they’ve lost in the orphanage. Once you have found these items you will have to find each of their headstones which are hidden in a maze and then you can set the items onto their headstone and their ghostly souls will be set free.

The Dark Eye Memoria

The Dark Eye: Memoria is a point-and-click adventure game that’s coming to Windows PC and Mac OS X at the end of this month. Unlike other titles of the genre, this one is not first person and shows fully animated characters acting out the commands that you present to them. Clicking the middle mouse button (or pressing the space bar) will give also give you hints as to what you are meant to do next, something that is extremely useful for a game of this nature. The tools at your disposal, including items and magic, are a part of an auto-hiding menu.

Welcome to the hardest game ever. Yes you heard that right! Teleglitch: Die More Edition is one of the hardest top view games I have ever played. The game is surely exciting and keeps players addicted for hours. It represents itself as quite a brilliant rouge-like game. The “Die More Edition” is an upgraded version of the original game released last year. Test3 Projects have executed a well made game which has a really difficult “difficulty”, much like the 1999 Mode in Bioshock Infinite.

Race the Sun

Race the Sun plays a bit like a racing rendition of Star Fox with polygons and a calculated lack of textures that gives you a really cool virtual reality type of feel while playing. Each race has multiple objectives, and you don’t have to complete a perfect round to get to the next stage. So there’s replay value in that alone since you may find yourself skipping ahead once you’ve met the requirements for a level, then backtracking in order to truly master that same level. The game also features an intense online system including a login system with leader-boards and even more features. No worries though, as you can also play without all of that if you don’t have time to sign up during your first run through and just want to see what all the fuss is about.
