With Blackguards, Daedalic Entertainment have created a game that is not easy to get into but unlocks tons of fun and satisfying gameplay for hardcore role playing game fans who are able to master its control set and user interface. If those don’t scare you off, then you’re in for a treat. Blackguards rewards players with a decent story, great battles, and an easy on the eyes experience that easily stands out in its genre.

In Blackguards players start off on the wrong side of the law with little to no understanding of what was reality and what was fantasy. The main character witnesses a strange wolf, which almost seems possessed, killing a princess he knew well and was sworn to protect. When he’s killed the beast though the princess lays on the ground with blood all around her and there is now no wolf to be seen. The player is discovered and amongst the confusion hears a voice whisper out to him. Taking the blame for what happened, unsure of who is really responsible for what happened, and tortured in the pain of imprisonment both within his mind as well as literally Blackguards begins with the player on a quest for answers. The Dark Eye Memoria

The Dark Eye: Memoria is a point-and-click adventure game that’s coming to Windows PC and Mac OS X at the end of this month. Unlike other titles of the genre, this one is not first person and shows fully animated characters acting out the commands that you present to them. Clicking the middle mouse button (or pressing the space bar) will give also give you hints as to what you are meant to do next, something that is extremely useful for a game of this nature. The tools at your disposal, including items and magic, are a part of an auto-hiding menu.
