Final Fantasy VII Remake – Real Gamer Review

Final Fantasy VII Remake – Real Gamer Review

Episode 1 in the Final Fantasy VII Remake saga was quite impressive, restored hopes for the seventh entry in the series to see its modernization in this upcoming generation, and a resolution to the issue of how to do a hybrid real time action and turn based decision making battle system in a Final Fantasy game. This single equation held the key to whether or not fans would be able to accept a modern retelling of one of the iconic, classic JRPG titles from the original PlayStation era.

Life Is Strange – Episode 1: Chrysalis Review

Life is Strange - Episode 1 Chrysalis Review

Presentation: Life is Strange is a modern day story of time travel, teenage angst, and the high school story wrapped up into one. In gameplay terms this is an episodic, cinematic, interactive drama adventure game, with point and click elements. As we all know time travel is sticky business. Throughout the course of the game you can see how simply rewinding time and changing a choice can alter something, for better, or for worse.

Thief Post-Mortem Review

Thief is a complete disgrace to a long-lasting series which many (including myself) considered a unique and fun classic title of the past. Growing up with PC Gaming and Console gaming, and watching the industry evolve from the Nintendo NES to the Xbox Original (which I played Thief’s first entry on) was an incredible experience. Back then, it seemed like even the crappiest of games had something to add to the business of creating these interactive experiences we all spent so much of our time inhabiting. Thief was one of those games that had a very unique feel to it despite lots of similarities to games that already existed. It had a signature feel that you probably won’t get, even by replaying the original on its intended hardware. Nostalgia is a double edged sword. People think they can go back in time and relive the classics just because a remake, reboot, or remaster is released. Unfortunately many times this is not true.

Final Fantasy III (New PC Version) Review

Final Fantasy III New PC Version Review RealGamerNewz

Final Fantasy III is a member of the classic retro series from the epic turn-based role playing game franchise beloved by many and affectionately known as FF. Square made the game back in 1990 for the Famicom (Japan’s name for what we called the Nintendo NES). This title never made it to the USA and instead the North American audience was given FF6 on SNES some years later with the moniker “Final Fantasy III”, so if you’re a bit confused that’s definitely forgivable. With so much age sprinkled on FF3 by this point in time, it’s understandable that even some of the most die hard FF fans will be unable to enjoy the original title as it was intended to be felt. Thankfully this game was remade for the Nintendo DS in 2006 and this is the big daddy, high-spec version of that game!

Final Fantasy VII (New PC Version) Review

Final Fantasy VII PC Review RealGamerNewz 2

Final Fantasy VII is arguably the single handedly most well known role playing game ever released out of Japan. Originally hitting the Sony PlayStation exclusively in 1997, this game has gone on to see a retro release on Windows PC in 1998 and is also available as a digital download from the PlayStation Store (compatible with PSP, PS3, and PS Vita). However, until now – there have been no noticeable adjustments made to the game’s look across these versions. Square Enix has taken the liberty of putting out a New PC Version that now comes with achievements, enhanced graphics, and a few other features that attempt to avoid spoiling the game while at the same time bringing it in line with modern releases of the genre.
