Minecraft is basically on any device you can ever think of, but I have always found the handheld versions lacking in comparison to it’s PC and Console counterparts. Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition promises a modern Minecraft experience at home, and on the go, so does it deliver, and is it worth the $29.99 price tag?
Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition comes from Blizzard Entertainment. Blizzard has been around since 1994 and have been in the gaming industry for some time, they have created such games that have made a real big impression with the gaming community. One example of Blizzard’s work, perhaps the one they are best known for, is World of Warcraft which has over 6.8 million active subscribers. They are also responsible for developing the Starcraft series which is a real time strategy game that’s popular all over the world and is also a huge eSports game. Blizzard also releases Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, Diablo, and will be publishing the upcoming MOBA title Heroes of the Storm set in the Blizzard universe. Since Diablo has come out in 1996 it’s been one of the premier action role-playing hack and slash experiences on the market with iterations that have improved the story as well as add all kinds of multiplayer elements really working with the community to make the ultimate game which  has finally arrived with Ultimate Evil Edition today.
Hitting Xbox ONE and Steam Today on April 28, 2015 is State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition, the third person action / adventure / shooter with a persistent world of survivors to be recruited, materials to be scavenged, zombie infestations to be contained, and a lot more. One of the most distinct features of State of Decay lies in its punishment for mistakes. Sure, it takes a lot to get this to happen, so there’s plenty of time to avoid it – but let your camp members die out in battle and they’re gone for good.
The Year is 2552. Murder aliens for the good of the human species in Halo: Spartan Strike, where you don’t play as Master Chief but you will be fellow a Spartan soldier uncovering the details of events in the Halo story-line previously shrouded in some degree of mystery. Thirty missions are faced as back-story is given to the Halo franchise and that same beloved twin-stick shooter gameplay from Halo: Spartan Assault is brought to an even higher quality level. Tom Salta who did the soundtrack for Halo 2: Anniversary is back again to provide a moving score that feels great while gaming, and graphically the title has been taken to a new level as well. While you can get the game from Windows Store on your Windows 8 Phone, Windows 8 PC, or the Apple Appstore on iPhone / iPad, many people enjoy playing through Steam on Windows 7 still and Microsoft chose not to leave us behind thankfully. The game is fully available on its own for just $5.99 or with the original game it sequels for $9.99 as a two-game bundle.
An impactful journey begins with a heart-wrenching narrative in which the cycle of life and death are prevailing themes. Players discover more about how to play as this cycle becomes better understood. Each part of the environment, which may at first seem unapproachable, ends up serving its own purpose in this nearly perfect ecosystem of gameplay design. From a team of developers called Moon Studios collaborating across the world (with members in Israel, United States, Australia, and more) and thanks to the blessing of high speed internet telecommuting, Ori and the Blind Forest lands on the Xbox ONE and Windows PC (via Steam) gracefully showing off Microsoft’s ability to spot a diamond in the rough and propel beautiful visions to the spotlight. Much as the team coming together to make this game, the harmony of each element it consists of reveals itself and the full experience is formed with clarity.
It’s hard to describe this game as a whole, it’s as if Insomniac Games decided to mix several awesome games together and make an even ‘awesomer’ game. Welcome to the Awesomepocalypse, where we make up words and life isn’t nearly as boring. Sunset City has been taken over by some of the weirdest mutants of all time and the culprit behind it all? An energy drink. Sunset Overdrive combines some awesome gameplay mechanics, with an entertaining story, interesting art, and some awesome customization. It’s a game that takes away from other games, but still manages to hold it’s own and it stands tall.
State of Decay may have been something you overlooked over on it’s release last year as an XBLA Exclusive, hell, even I did until late last year when it finally made its way to PC. State of Decay for Tristan was a 7.9, but this is the review of the DLC we missed out on. State of Decay’s first DLC is titled Breakdown, giving me what I’ve wanted for some time, sandbox mode. That was the original reason I skipped over the game, but in addition I also was waiting for the PC release as I preferred the comfort of my PC vs. the coldness of my sad, Xbox Live-less 360. This wasn’t exactly a game I hadn’t looked forward to and the wait did kill me, but it was well worth the wait especially with the DLC added in. I rarely consider DLC worth it in the long run, but I can’t help but say it for this game.
Kinect Sports Rivals is RareWare‘s newest attempt at trying to get players to set down a controller in favor of hopping on your feet and getting more involved in the action on screen. Is Kinect Sports Rivals a must have Kinect title? Short answer: not quite.
