Minecraft is basically on any device you can ever think of, but I have always found the handheld versions lacking in comparison to itâs PC and Console counterparts. Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition promises a modern Minecraft experience at home, and on the go, so does it deliver, and is it worth the $29.99 price tag?
An impactful journey begins with a heart-wrenching narrative in which the cycle of life and death are prevailing themes. Players discover more about how to play as this cycle becomes better understood. Each part of the environment, which may at first seem unapproachable, ends up serving its own purpose in this nearly perfect ecosystem of gameplay design. From a team of developers called Moon Studios collaborating across the world (with members in Israel, United States, Australia, and more) and thanks to the blessing of high speed internet telecommuting, Ori and the Blind Forest lands on the Xbox ONE and Windows PC (via Steam) gracefully showing off Microsoftâs ability to spot a diamond in the rough and propel beautiful visions to the spotlight. Much as the team coming together to make this game, the harmony of each element it consists of reveals itself and the full experience is formed with clarity.
When reviewing a game by TellTale, it is very easy to review Game of Thrones by the sum of its parts but, not by what it was âdesignedâ to do. In order to not fall into that trap, one must look at TellTaleâs past to judge the game based around the literary/HBO juggernaut Game of Thrones. Now full disclosure, I have not read any of the books but I am caught up on the television series so if there are any inaccuracies or assumptions it will stem from the deviations the show took from the book.
Over the weekend I was fortunate enough to get my hands on Tales From The Borderlands for Xbox One thanks to our PR contact at Telltale Games. I was quite excited to get my hands on this game, as I have played all of the previous Borderlands games and I enjoyed playing through The Walking Dead from Telltale Games as well. While you donât need any prior knowledge of the previous Borderlands games, it doesnât hurt to have played them before. All the hilarious dialogue and quirky Borderlands moments still come out, even though you arenât going around guns blazing this time.
State of Decay may have been something you overlooked over on itâs release last year as an XBLA Exclusive, hell, even I did until late last year when it finally made its way to PC. State of Decay for Tristan was a 7.9, but this is the review of the DLC we missed out on. State of Decayâs first DLC is titled Breakdown, giving me what Iâve wanted for some time, sandbox mode. That was the original reason I skipped over the game, but in addition I also was waiting for the PC release as I preferred the comfort of my PC vs. the coldness of my sad, Xbox Live-less 360. This wasnât exactly a game I hadnât looked forward to and the wait did kill me, but it was well worth the wait especially with the DLC added in. I rarely consider DLC worth it in the long run, but I canât help but say it for this game.
*Spoilers* This DLC takes during Lords of Shadow 2, so if you havenât played or beaten it turn back now. Read our review here.
âRevelationsâ is a digital only story add-on for MercurySteamâs Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. Towards the end of LoS2 it was revealed that Alucard, son of Dracula played a huge role in the events of LoS2. We learned of the plan he and his Father put in motion in order to put a stop to Satan and to also have his wish of being freed from his curse of immortality.
Bioshock Infinite has been out for a little over a year now. Now we finally have all the DLC in our hands, mainly the two episodes of Burial at Sea. I will be reviewing both episodes as if they were one, since it really feels like they should have been included together in the first place. So, would you kindly:
The first thing you will notice after starting Constant C is its unique art style. This art style has been seen before, but unlike some of the art styles you see in platformers is not nearly as overused. The next thing you will probably notice is that the controls feel unique as well. Where most platformers feel sped up and like time runs this game has a slower movement system and allows you to enjoy your stay in the levels created by the developers. Constant C is a rich game, with well done level design even in a somewhat dead world. As the story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world.
Earth Defense Force 2025 is a third-person shooter from developer Sandlot. A sequel to EDF 2017, it sees the planet Earth once again threatened by giant bugs and an alien threat known as the Ravagers. That is all you really need to know about this gameâs story. Itâs a throwaway tale, filled with B movie dialogue and equally cheesy voice acting. The main focus of this game is to kill everything in sight and have fun. EDF generally delivers, though it is not without its annoyances.
Mirror of Fate HD is the console port of Konamiâs Nintendo 3DS title which installed the Lords of Shadow series into the handheld console. Mirror of Fate is not a 3D action adventure title like Lords of Shadow though, and instead harkens back to the good old days when Castlevania was a 2D open world type of game. With a less linear approach to things, Mirror of Fate HD extends the Castlevania: LoS series into the 2D world with 3D character models as well as other assets including backgrounds fleshed out with new age graphical techniques.
oday we are going to talk about Super Meat Boy, an indie-game I canât keep my hands off of! The platform game was originally released as a flash game called âmeat boyâ developed by Edmund McMillen and Jonathan McEntee back in 2008. It was rated high upon thousands of users on Newgrounds.com and received overall good criticism.
RealGamerNewz had the opportunity of speaking with Hunt Game Studios who put is releasing Action RPG Gheldia which will arrive on Xbox 360, Windows PC, and PlayStation Vita this January 2014. A free demo will be released soon during December 2013 giving the world their first playable taste of this indie game influenced by the retro gaming era of Super Nintendo. Take a look at this game and let us know what you think about it, any questions you may have for Hunt Game Studios, and look forward to its upcoming multi-platform release.
Turbo: Super Stunt Squad will surprise you if you think itâs just a silly game for kids. Each time you start up a round you are given a short amount of time to make your way through an obstacle course which mixes racing with free-roam, trick-based concepts reminiscent of the Tony Hawk skateboarding video games of âyesteryearâ. This includes everything from grinding, half-pipes, âvertsâ, and a lot more.
Sanctum 2 comes from developer Coffee Stain Studios. Theyâve made the original Sanctum back in 2011. The Sanctum series is an FPS tower defense game on âroids, where it combines the basics of a normal tower defense with the adrenaline of an FPS. Sanctum 2 takes place on the planet LOEK III, where you are tasked with protecting cores from the alien race. The story that takes place is represented by a series of comic strips throughout the campaign and give a little back story on the fight youâre going to take part in. In the campaign you can either take the story on by yourself or with a total of 4 players in co-op. There is a total of 16 maps to battle across and they come in different environments so adapting is a huge part of this game.
Microsoftâs new zombie game State of Decay developed by Undead Labs for 360 and on PC. But at the moment this new IP has hit the Xbox Live Arcade. State of Decay is a zombie game where survival and strategy does matter. You either live or you die itâs simple.
Binary Domain takes place well into the future and it takes full advantage leaving behind not many missed gameplay opportunities. Youâll see yourself using technology such as nano-machines to upgrade your weapons and other technological advancements to your advantage during your war against robots. Youâll be glad to have these advantages on your side too. Since your enemy isnât human theyâve got a few advantages themselves, most notably they donât die just from losing limbs.
Pushing the boundaries of PC gaming while also managing to deliver a fully immersive narrative and gameplay experience, Metro: Last Light is essentially Fallout without the boring parts. The hit detection in this game is second to none, every shot you take will go where it should. But thatâs not the only thing about Metro: Last Light that will have you on the edge of your seat. Stealth gameplay also makes a huge appearance once again with light and shadow playing a role in the tactics and strategy employed upon approach. The setting of the game is a wasteland riddled with political corruption and wild mutants as well as a controversial race of beings that those who completed Metro 2033 should know all about. These beings are dubbed the Dark Ones.
The graphics in this game are phenomenal and although you wonât be getting the same experience on console as you will on a high-end PC, the great translation on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 actually looks fantastic and could easily pass for one of the best looking console games of the year. Beyond that the gameâsâ physics engine is tight, and just plain old fun. For once youâre able to max out your gaming experience (and we really mean max out) without having to compensate in your gameplay routine for a poor game engine. This means Metro: Last Light produces a stress-free experience aside from the difficulty which can be very brutal as you run short on ammo and resort to calculated tactics for survival.
Some moments of this game feel like they are right out of a science fiction novel and tip toe around deep thinking philosophy that will have those who pay attention to detail pondering other worldly topics and aspects. However, this type of âsending a messageâ with the game thing doesnât overstep its boundaries at all. The storyline of this game mainly intends on keeping you gripped in the action and passion of the main characters quest for survival in the Metro and at times on the scarred, worn surface of Earth itself. Adaptive artificial intelligence and intriguing enemy design will keep you on your toes and have you shocked into adrenaline mode quite often, and you will have to learn each enemyâs reaction to the guns youâve got on hand until you know the most efficient way to kill what youâre up against.
The characters in Metro: Last Light are very well developed, and youâll find yourself walking in on conversations that you just have to hear. These can distract you from the main plot, but also turn into side missions that you can actually play and experience for yourself. Most of the story lineâs non-playable characters are quite memorable, and have a distinct personality to each their own. The game is entirely single player, with no multiplayer to speak of, but you wonât mind because itâs truly a single player shooter done right that veterans of the clouded genre can be proud to own and enjoy playing more than once.
The ranger mode adds to the gameplay experience by removing the heads up display in the game and creating an even more drastic shortage of ammo. Already in the gameâs hardcore and normal modes you will need to be very careful how much time you spend wandering around in the game if you want to live. There is no swimming, and when youâre on the surface you need to be weary of how much oxygen and bullets you use now in order to balance how many you will be saving for later. Thereâs an ability to buy and sell ammo while also customizing your guns, but this chance will come only a handful of times as the gameâs highly amped action sequences take you from place to place in a powerful rollercoaster of cause and effect.
Final Verdict:Â Metro: Last Light is an extremely polished shooter with a story that grips you and gameplay that has you gripping your controller tight until the end. RealGamerNewz scores this game a 9.75 out of 10.

Well the time is upon us. The foul smell of rotting flesh is in the air. What will be your weapon of choice? Who will live to fight another day and who will fall victim to the mounting hoards of reanimated, mindless, flesh hungry zombies? Dead Island Riptide is the perfect blend of survival and horror and redefines the genre which has often been accused of becoming watered down. The action of the game is intense, the story pulls you in and grips you, but most importantly you really feel like you are living in a post-apocalyptic world in which your every move must be calculated. Your eyes will learn to scan for infected constantly. Every time you turn a corner you will have to be prepared to strike.
You can tell that itâs that time of year again when the smell of burning fuel, the sound of screeching tires fills the air. The anticipation begins to mount as the rumble of the eight hundred horsepower, two hundred mile per hour behemoths begin their run towards the starting line. Once again if youâre looking to insert yourself into the NASCAR experience there is only one way other than heading out to the track itself, and thatâs with NASCAR The Game: Inside Line.
BioShock Infinite returns into the hands of itâs original creator Irrational games. They made one of the highest rated games of all time for the Xbox 360 back in oh hmm 2007. It was a marvel of wonders as to this date remains one of my favorite games. The question here is how does BioShock Infinite stand up to the first one or is it even worth the while for all these delays.
The WRC racing series has always paved the way and made a name for itself within its own niche of pure rally racing that comes straight off the top as an exciting and adrenaline-filled experience. If you know anything about racing games then you know that there might be more hardcore simulation systems out there but when it comes to simply wiping dirt all over your opponentâs face, WRC 3 is going to spend some time spinning your wheels.

One of the best games of the 90s for Nintendo 64 is now coming to Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii but can the PS3 and Xbox versions live up to how it plays on the Wii and even the 3ds?
