The Escapists Steam Review (Time To Bust Out!)

The Escapist PC Cover

There are many indie games on the market today and whether that be on the PC, Xbox, or PlayStation each one has its own uniqueness and appeal to it.  Although, there are others that try to leech off of others successes, some do come out with their own originality. One of those games just happened to recently flip out of early access and bash into its own spot on Steam and it’s called “The Escapists.” The game puts you in the role of an inmate, who the player gets to lightly customize (i.e change his look, race, hair type) and name him whatever you see fit. You can also name other NPCs you interact with as well before you start each scenario. Once you start a new game it is definitely advisable to select the tutorial just due to the fact you can easily get confused about what your end goals are while playing.

Apotheon is a 2D Action / Adventure game based on Greek Mythology where you take the role of Nikandreos in his village which has been left to ruins due to the Gods giving up on mortal kind. The Talos Principle Review

Test-The-Talos-Principle-00

The Talos Principle is a unique first-person/third person puzzle adventure game created by Croteam the team that brought you Serious Sam. Now The Talos Principle is not your ordinary Puzzle game as it has many weird but interesting features within the game including a bit of a back story within the game, detailed and intricate puzzle gameplay, many different locations accessible within a certain HUB, and many hidden secrets that lay around the games decently large areas. The game play is almost pretty straightforward and easy to understand as you start you are introduced to a decently large area or Location 1 as I am going to call it. In the first location you are introduced to many of the basic puzzles, enemies, and items you will use to help you progress and make it further into the game, and the story.

Song of Myrne: What Lies Beneath Review

songofthemyrne-7.jpg

Ever wanted to play a rip of Terraria with the Music Track from Brutal Legends, well here is your game. What Lies Beneath is a single player action-RPG with some local only multiplayer  in which you’ll explore the island of Namok and its deadly dungeon in hope to find your wife’s killer.. Yeah.. Your Wife.. Since this is a simple indie title I will start by talking a bit about what I am assuming is the story. This game starts you off in a farm, which I assume is your farm since after going upstairs you find a dead bunny who the main character (Insert Name Here) claims is his dead wife.

Time Rifters Review

Time Rifters is a pretty unique game in it’s own. Pick a gun, upgrade that gun, and destroy different types of cubes in the process, pretty straight forward huh? Well look at all that, and add the fact that you can Play with 3 other bots that replay exactly what you do. Time Rifters implemented what I like to call, the ghost play. In this you play the first round with one of your bots, Shoot some cubes and lets say, destroy half of them. Round 2 is the same, you play as a new bot, but along with your new bot. when you start the round your previous recorded bot for that level will do exactly what it did round one, and with your new bot you can destroy the other cubes your previous one didn’t. Pretty cool isn’t it. Well personally, I think that is a pretty awesome feature. It is definitely a feature I haven’t seen in any other game (that I know of). But this is where you can really enjoy the game, because you can create a tactic and then switch it up on the following arena round leaving your ghost to do what you prepared it for like flanking one way while you go the other to shoot down cubes and cube monsters to try to achieve higher completion points.

gabriel-knight-sins-of-the-fathers-20th-anniversary-edition

For those of you who have played the Gabriel Knight murder mystery series this remastered version is sure to hit home with some of you who played the original back when it released in 1993. Gabriel Knight Sins of the Fathers was an award winning murder mystery back in 1993 and now Pinkerton Road has released the remastered 20th anniversary edition.

The remastered edition features many upgrades from it’s original counterpart including new high resolution 3D graphics, new puzzles and scenes, a remastered soundtrack, and a bunch of behind the scenes goodies for those of you really into the Gabriel Knight series. Now personally I have never played a Gabriel Knight game and was very skeptical since it was a point and click murder mystery. But playing the remastered anniversary edition was actually quite enjoyable.

May’s Mysteries Secret of Dragonville Review

Mays_Mysteries_The_Secret_of_Dragonville_Logo

If you are into puzzle and trivia games then continue reading because may’s mysteries secret of dragonville might just be for you. I honestly didn’t expect much from this game since it was more for kids. But quiet honestly i had a lot of fun. From an adult perspective the story is cheesy and too simple, but that is to be expected cause it is for children. But as an adult, I actually had fun with it!

The puzzles were very well laid out, varied and actually quite challenging especially if you don’t stroll through it in casual mode. The puzzles are many and they vary from item finds, to word problems, or even connecting the dots ( and believe me it is actually harder than it sounds) and trust me, theirs many more puzzles than that to solve some more difficult than others.

The Boycott Gamer – GamesterGear Cruiser XB210 Gaming Headset

Cruiser HEadset

Video Game headsets, we all have or want them, but what makes for a good gaming headset? How do you decide which one will give you the sound you want, or which one is more comfortable? Well hopefully it will be easier to decide after reading what I have to say about the Xbox 360 GamesterGears Cruiser XB210 Gaming Headset.

After testing out the headset I listened to some music and listened to very different kinds of sound among many different video games, and I was very pleased with everything except for how comfortable it was. Now it isn’t the ear pieces that are uncomfortable, no those are actually probably one of the softer ear comforters out there that fit almost perfectly around your ears, it doesn’t agitate the ear nor block any sound.
