Call of Cthulhu: The Official Video Game Review

Set in 1924, Call of Cthulhu: The Official Video Game follows the down on his luck detective Edward Pierce, a struggling war veteran who operates out of Boston Massachusetts is asked by a Mr. Webster to investigate the mysterious death of the Hawkins family on an island called Dark Water just outside of Massachusetts. While working on this case he discovers a cult that wishes to bring back ‘the old gods’ from the worlds of Lovecraftian horror lore. The game is in first person view and is a survival horror type game with very little combat, some stealth elements, and a heavy reliance on Investigation.

When you actually read these reviews, you may start to notice that the major complaints most have against Cities XXL are related to user preference and fixed by existing mods already available for free with easy installation through Steam Workshop, or they are complaints about the game not running optimal enough. I can assure readers that RealGamerNewz has tested this game on a budget, entry-level machine complete with Quad Core processor from AMD and GTX 650 graphics card from NVIDIA (eVGA specifically), with no major issue the game is running for us on just 8 gigabytes of standard DDR3 RAM.

Today gamers I am going to review Styx: Master of Shadows. This game takes place In the Tower of Akenash, where humans and elves jealously guard a strange treasure: The amber of the World Tree. Styx the Goblin Assassin’s mission is to steal the heart of the world tree, or as he calls it, “The crime of the century”. At his capacity are an astounding set of skills and tricks he can use to get to his goal, but first he must get the key from the governor.

Blue Estate PS4 Review RealGamerNewz

Blue Estate is an on-rail shooter that just released for the Sony PlayStation 4 and uses the DualShock 4 controller’s built-in gyroscope (motion sensor technology) to allow players to aim their shots. This does not require the PS4 Camera. With a story that goes out of its way not to take itself too seriously, and unexpected arcade fun thrown into the midst of intense gun fights, this game is one of the better on-rail shooters seen in a very long time. There are still ways this game could have improved though, of course. One nagging feature in particular was the inability to re-calibrate the gyroscope from the Pause Menu.

Space Run is developed by Passtech Games out of Lyon, France. This is their first game on Steam and is shooting to be a real success. It’s being published by Focus Home Interactive. They have published titles such as; Bound by Flame, Wargame Red Dragon, Contrast, and Farming Simulator so they know a good game when they see one. The year is 2525 and Space was  the final frontier, well not anymore now that space is heavily filled with all kinds of danger such as; greedy space pirates, gigantic asteroids, hostile aliens, space monsters, and anomalies. The user will start the game playing as Captain Buck Mann a real hot shot pilot. A little bit about Buck? Well to start he doesn’t have a buck to his name, he has a gambling problem always deciding to bet on the wrong team or the wrong thing at the wrong time and owes a lot of money to the wrong people.

WarGame Red Dragon RealGamerNewz Review

Wargame: Red Dragon is developed by Eugen Systems they are no strangers to making tactile RTS games with the inclusion of the Wargame Franchise and Ruse they definitely know what they are doing when it comes to war-games. Wargame: Red Dragon is also published by Focus Home Interactive which has published games such as the recently released Bound by Flame, Farming simulator, and Contrast. The Campaign for Wargame: Red Dragon is quite intense consisting of 5 separate campaigns they are: Buscan Pocket, Bear vs Dragon, Pearl of the Orient, Climb Mount Narodnaia, and Second Korean War. All of the missions take place over in Asia and involve several factions including; Japan, China, North Korea, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and the Soviet Union. All of this takes place during an alternate Cold War ranging from 1979 to 1992, the story is told through clips at the beginning of the each of the campaigns by video’s that have been made for this purpose they do a decent job at setting the stage for the gameplay but not a necessity really, also there are bit of dialog that will be found in each mission from your commanding officers or others on the battlefield.
