Dead Cells Review

Dead Cells is a rogue-like Metroid-vania style game developed by the studio Motion-Twin. So this game features procedurally generated areas which is something new to the genre of Metroid-vania since it’s usually all about remembering the layout of the map, finding secrets in it, and back tracking to older areas to unlock newer areas. Dead Cells throws all of that on its head with making everything well randomized. Survive long enough and you can play it like Metroid, but die and it’s time to start over. Sure, some of the areas are pre-designed, but they are constantly randomized, so you will never know where to go next whenever a new life begins.

Onechanbara Z2: Chaos PS4 Review – A So-So Zombie Slayer

OnechanbaraZ2Chaos_05

The zombies are once again threatening to destroy the world and the two pairs of sisters from the ancient Vampiric and Baneful clans have to team up in order to stop them. That’s the basic premise for Onechanbara Z2: Chaos, the latest title in the long-running hack-and-slash series. Originally released in Japan late last year, Z2 has now made its way to the West thanks to publisher XSEED. But did they do us a favor, or should they have not even bothered? Maybe.

The Evil Within: The Executioner DLC Review

The-Evil-Within-The-Executioner-pc

In the final DLC of The Evil Within titled, The Executioner, surviving STEM takes a turn for the better. Enemies that once inspired fear received an unimpressed grunt before meeting their doom at the end of a massive spiked hammer. Areas that conjured dread at the notion of exploring were now comfortable and cozy. Playing as The Keeper made it all feel like home.

The Evil Within: The Consequence DLC Review

The-Evil-Within-The-Consequence DLC Review

Never have I ever been so happy to get a gun. In the second DLC of The Evil Within, titled The Consequence, Juli Kidman breaks her bonds and goes on the offense. Where once she only had the option to flee, now she’s been granted the ability to instigate the violence in her favor.

Titan Souls PS4 Review

Titan Souls Review RealGamerNewZ

Although this game perhaps needs no introduction, I’ll start by saying Titan Souls is one of the recent indie-developed games that are part of a larger wave of software focusing squarely on gameplay. That’s not to say it doesn’t look and sound great, but surely in a world where multiple hundreds of millions of dollars are being spent on big budget games we are looking for pure gameplay design to merit purchases from smaller studios or even teams of three such as the case with Titan Souls.

Zombie Army Trilogy PS4 Review

The war is almost over and the Nazis have all but lost. Rather than accept defeat, Hitler orders the execution of plan Z. Now Germany is overrun by the undead and it is up to a group of survivors to put a stop to the madness. Like the name suggests, this third-person shooter is a bundle containing three games in one; developer Rebellion’s remastered Nazi Zombie Army 1 and 2, and the previously unreleased third episode. So does the Trilogy deliver, or is it dead on arrival?

Bladestorm: Nightmare PS4 Review

Blade

Bladestorm: Nightmare is a third-person strategy game from Omega Force, developers of the Dynasty Warriors franchise. The game is a remake of 2007’s Bladestorm: The Hundred Year’s War but brings some new features along. Is it enough to warrant a return to the war, or enlist for the first time? Yes and no.

The Order: 1886 Review

The Order 1886 RealGamerNewz Review

Presentation: The Order: 1886 is Ready at Dawn’s first big game, compared to the scale of the God of War PSP titles. It is a cinematic third person shooter/adventure game. The game takes place in a Victorian-like London during 1886. Basically a sort of future/past mix version of that time period. While the game feels fresh, it has some shortcomings.

Grand Theft Auto V PlayStation 4 Review

Grand Theft Auto V PlayStation 4 Review - RealGamerNewz

Straight from the first step into Los Santos the textures and graphics are exactly what we’ve all been hoping for, depth visuals. Whether your returning from PS3 or this is your first visit to Los Santo’s, you are in for a treat. The environment looks super smooth with eye-popping details in every object, I dare say Rockstar may have we finally tamed GTA’s beastly new engine and harnessed its power properly on next-gen consoles.

Assassin’s Creed Unity Review

Assassins_Creed_Unity_RooftopNavigation_watermarked_1415412391

I haven’t fully beaten an Assassin’s Creed game since the 2nd installment. I would lose interest in the game far too quickly for several reasons. This series hasn’t been able to captivate me since that title. Black Flag is a toss up, as I ran out of time to play it. Assassin’s Creed Unity is a somewhat different experience for me as I am able to play for hours on end without falling over due to boredom, so in that sense we are seeing improvement.

Watch Dogs Review

Watch Dogs RealGamerNewz Review

If you would have told me that a New IP was going to define next-generation, I would have agreed with you. But perhaps unexpectedly, Watch Dogs has managed to live up to the hype from both Sony and Ubisoft who have laid stake that very claim.

Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition PS4 Review

dynasty-warriors-8-xtreme-legends_td-605x300

After being released in July of last year for current gen consoles, Omega Force and Tecmo Koei’s Dynasty Warriors 8 has finally received its standalone ‘Xtreme Legends’ expansion. It has been bundled togther with the full game as Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Completed Edition for the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. Is it a worthwhile update, or just fluff?

Infamous: Second Son Review

inFamousSecondSon22

As a long time fan of Infamous I was somewhat excited to grab this with little to no expectations. From the get go my mind was blown though. The motion controllers with the controller as well as the pads are used in maybe not the most useful way, but in an awesome way that makes me constantly keep wanting to go back for more. Infamous: Second Son is by far the best in the series and possibly the best PS4 game currently out.

Doki Doki Universe PS4 Review – A Journey Of Self Discovery

Doki Doki Universe starts off by introducing the main character, a robot who has been abandoned by his family for being outdated. The overall task which players will spend the rest of the game working towards is then presented, this robot must get Humanity training and pass Alien Jeff’s reports or be sentenced to de-construction (along with all other robots that share the same model number as it). “Humanity is about understanding others” is the advice players are greeted with.

Warframe PS4 Review

Warframe PS4 Review - RealGamerNewz

Developer Digital Extremes was originally created by the man behind Sorcery in 1993 and grew to become the co-creationists of Unreal (the Epic Games franchise pre-dating Unreal Tournament) which took the PC Gaming world by storm. Digital Extremes since has co-developed Unreal Tournament, Unreal Championship, Unreal Tournament 2003, and Unreal Tournament 2004 alongside Epic Games leading to over 15 million worldwide sales across a myriad of platforms and has also been responsible for the New IP Dark Sector that had the gaming world abuzz as it was revealed as one of the first “next-gen” titles back when PS3 and Xbox 360 specs were merely whispers in the dark.
